Free Magazine Subscriptions Anyone?

I love getting magazines in the mail. Problem is, I can't justify the money to pay for the subscriptions. A Frugal Friend has a great post about how you can get magazine subscriptions for FREE. Check out this great information here.

She also has a series entitled Mailbox Monday where she posts about all the things that she got for free over the last week in her mailbox. Read her most recent Mailbox Monday post here.

I recently signed up to get a couple of free subscriptions. I signed up for Islands and also the Smithsonian (love this magazine!!). I may have signed up for one more but I can't remember right now.

Walgreens Coupon

Walgreens has a coupon that is good for today (November 14th) and tomorrow (November 15th). It is for $5.00 off your purchase of $20.00 or more. Remember, with this coupon, your total has to come to $20.00 after you use all of your coupons!

You can print this coupon from my printable coupons sidebar!

Rite Aid Transactions

At Rite Aids this week I purchased -

used $.25 off coupon
(1) Crest Pro Health Toothpaste - $2.69 sale price
used $1.00 off coupon

Subtotal - $ 2.43
Tax - $ .22

Total OOP - $2.65

The greatest part is that this month Rite Aid is having a rebate on their Crest Pro Health Toothpaste for up to $2.69. So after I get my rebate check, I will have made $.04! Not alot but better than nothing!!

Walgreens Transactions

Great week at Walgreens! I transferred one of my prescriptions from Paul's to Walgreens and got $25 to spend in the store which made all of my purchases this week FREE! Rite Aid also offers $30 if you switch your prescription over to them.

My Deal Hunting Journey

My husband, Joseph, and I have been married for 5 years. We have two beautiful daughters, ages 4 and 1 1/2. In September of 2007, we decided to start on an exciting, fun, and stressful journey of being self-employed. Let me emphasize the STRESSFUL part. Being your own boss has many great benefits but with it comes a lot of stress.

We have been incredibly blessed over the last year, however, we still have a lot of kinks to work out to really get up and going and lessen the stress a little bit. About six weeks ago, while I was looking through blogs, I read (for the second time) about something called The Grocery Game. I had no idea what it was and so I googled it. It is a website that helps you match sales and coupons to get the best deals possible. I was amazed at what kind of deals you could get. Where in the world had this information been the last 5 years of my married life????

Since I started doing this, I have learned a ton about using coupons and finding great deals. In my opinion, information is even better when you share it with others. I decided to start this blog to help others out there who are hunting for a great deal. I will post about the deals that I get every week, information for finding coupons and deals, and also link to other blogs who post about weekly deals at different stores. I would love for this blog to be interactive, so I hope that in time other people will share the deals they find and help spread the information about great deals.

If you know of any deals or would like to contribute to the blog, please email me at greatdealhunting (at) gmail (dot) com. I look forward to hearing from you!

Happy deal hunting!!
